The corners of the cajon are rounded (ergonomic edges), ensuring a secure strike and preventing injury. It also features non-slip feet for enhanced security and stability while playing.

Like all ION cajons, the bass response is deep and powerful, thanks to its larger structure compared to conventional cajons and the bass output enhancer.

The cajon comes with a manual double-string tuning system, with two strings on each side (a total of 4 strings) for precise tone control. Additionally, it includes an innovative string sensitivity technology developed by us, ensuring the strings are correctly tensioned and properly touching the plate, guaranteeing an optimal sound response and excellent sound quality.

3mm phenolic birch plywood.

This hard-wearing surface can easily deal with even the most vigorous of playing styles and boasts exceptional acoustic transmission properties. This is due to the way it is manufactured, with thin layers of solid wood that are glued together, with the grains of adjacent layers arranged at right angles to each other. In terms of both durability and sound quality, this is an excellent choice.

Material

Made 100% from plywood ranging from 6.5 to 12mm in thickness. This material boasts outstanding properties in terms of both its strength and its transmission of vibrations. It is sustainably sourced under extremely strict regulations. This means that we exclusively source our wood from large forests that can trap and store more carbon dioxide than is released during the manufacture of the cajons. Its natural aesthetic gives the cajon a classic, elegant look.

We purposely designed this to be larger than standard because a bigger sound box equates to a greater movement of air inside it. In other words, the greater the volume, the longer the soundwave, and this produces a stronger, more intense and more driving sound. In addition to this, the extended seating surface allows for added comfort and freedom of movement.
